Voting Suspended In Nine Polling Units In Taraba, As Protest Erupt Over Alleged Fake Ballot Paper

Taraba state

Voting is said to have ceased in nine polling units in Taraba State’s Donga Local Government Area’s Gyetta Aure and Asibiti Wards.

A protest has erupted in some parts of the state, with voters alleging that the ballot and results sheet was forged.

According to ICRI, voters in the Gyetta Aure and Asibiti Wards of Taraba Southern Senatorial District’s Donga Local Government Area are protesting the discovery of fake ballot papers and election result sheets.

The protest is said to have halted voting in about nine polling units in the ward.

An election observer recounted the incident, saying that the discovery of the alleged fake ballot papers and results has discouraged voters from voting.

It was also discovered that, at the time of filing the report, all electoral materials had been returned to the ward’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office.
