The incumbent Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has been declared the winner of the just concluded governorship election in the state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Abiodun, who is standing for a second term defeated his closest rival, Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Abiodun polled 276,298 votes while Adebutu scored a total of 262,383 votes.
The duo were trailed behind by the Africa Democratic Party, ADC’s, Biyi Otegbeye who polled a total of 94,754 votes.
WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier reported that INEC had declared Pastor Umo Eno, of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner of the just concluded Akwa Ibom State governorship election.
Eno polled a total of 354,548 votes to defeat his closest rival, Sen. Bassey Akpan, of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, who polled a total of 136, 262. The APC candidate came third with a total of 129,602 votes.
