Caleb Mutfwang, the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in Plateau State, has been declared the winner of the Saturday election.
The declaration was made on Monday by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.
After tallying the votes cast by parties in the elections, INEC Presiding Officer Musa Yusuf declared Mutfwang the winner, defeating the All Progressives Candidate, Nentawe Yilwatda.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate polled 525,495 while his closest rival, the APC’s candidate, got 481,410.

In a related development, the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has defeated the All Progressive Party to win Saturday’s governorship election in Kano State.
Abba Kabir Yusuf of the NNPP was declared the winner with 1,019,602 votes against his closest rival, APC’s candidate, Nasir Gawuna, who polled 890,705 votes.
