Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, has reacted to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) victory in Adamawa State.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that the incumbent governor and PDP candidate, Ahmadu Fintiri, won the March 18 gubernatorial election.
Fintiri, who was elected governor for the first time in 2019, received 421,522 votes to defeat Aishatu Binani Ahmed of the All Progressives Congress, who received 390,275 votes.
Muhammad Laminu Mele, professor and deputy vice chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, announced the final decision.
Many predicted that Binani would win the race after taking an early lead in the results.
In response, Reno Omokri said on his social media page that the PDP’s election victory made today his happiest day in a long time.
He noted that Fintri ran against an overwhelming federal force and won, calling it a well-deserved victory.
Sharing a photo of PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and Fintrin, Reno wrote:
The result in Adamawa has made today my happiest day in a long time. Congratulations Governor Umaru Fintiri.
You ran against overwhelming federal might, and you won. A very sweet, hard won, and well deserved victory. My home state and my leader’s home state remain in the safe hands of PDP.
