Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has expressed gratitude to the people of the state for voting for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Sheriff Oborevwori in Saturday’s governorship election.
WITHIN NIGERIA previously reported that Oborevwori, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, polled 360,234 votes to defeat the Deputy Senate President and All Progressives Congress candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege.
Deacon Ken Pella, the Labour Party’s governorship candidate, finished third with 48,047 votes.
The governor attributed the party’s victory to God’s grace and urged the people to support the governor-elect as he leads the state to new heights.
He made the remarks during a Thanksgiving Service at Asaba’s Government House Chapel, just days after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oborevwori as governor-elect on Monday.
