Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in French tactician Zinedine Zidane, just days after firing their Italian tactician, Antonio Conte.
Aside from Zinedine Zidane, Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly made contact with Julian Nagelsmann, who was fired by Bayern Munich a few days ago.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Tottenham Hotspur fired Conte after he had been a manager for 16 months. Despite the fact that Tottenham lost in the round of 16 of the Champions League and is currently struggling to finish in the top four, it is believed that the 53-year-old tactician was fired for criticizing the club’s management and players during a post-match press conference.
As a result, the search for a new manager has begun, with Cristian Stellini, Conte’s former assistant coach, remaining in charge of the club until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
The Premier League club is making every effort to secure a permanent coach ahead of the summer transfer window, and it appears Spurs are targeting some of the game’s biggest names.
According to Sky Sports Italia, Zidane, who has not accepted any managerial position since terminating his contract with Real Madrid at the end of the 2020-2021 season, has been shortlisted for the job by the Premier League club.
Remember that during his first stint at Real Madrid, the 50-year-old won a record three Champions Leagues in a row, making him a hot commodity in the managerial world.
He had previously been heavily linked with the position of head coach of France’s national team, but he was not given it. According to reports, Paris Saint-Germain has shortlisted him as a possible replacement for Christophe Galtier, who may be fired at the end of the season.
In addition to Zidane and Nagelsmann, former FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique and former PSG coach Portichino, who has previously coached Spurs, are linked with the north London club.
