Operatives of the Western Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun State have announced that it has recovered a wine-coloured Ford J5 loaded with diesel and engine oil.
The vehicle with registration number SBG126XB, was recovered after the operatives of the security outfit dislodged a group of armed robbers terrorising motorists along the Akure/Ibadan expressway during a routine patrol on Friday night.
Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, the Osun Amotekun Corps Commander making this known in Osogbo on Saturday revealed that his men swung into action immediately their attention was called to the robbery incident and dislodged the armed robbers who later fled into the bush.
While explaining that the men of his outfit had engaged the armed robbers in a shootout, Adewinmbi acknowledged that the expressway has been a perpetual root for armed robbers for a long time.
Adewinmbi also stated that the Corps has, “reached out to the owner of the recovered items and the driver through the waybills and the vehicle and the items will be handed over to them.
“Be rest assured that the operatives are working day and night to send criminals out of the state.
“I urge the residents of the state to expose criminals in their locality to the security agents and they should be security conscious at all times.”
