Civil servants in Osun State have been given an explanation for why their March salaries were delayed by a few days.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Governor Ademola Adeleke has assured them of their March salaries in a couple of days.
The salaries were delayed, according to the governor, because the state government is working to pay promotion arrears.
Adeleke explained that the March salaries would include the payment of promotion arrears in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed in Osogbo.
He claimed that the March salaries were delayed due to the ongoing computation of promotion arrears of civil servants promoted without pay in the previous four years.
The governor noted that;
The March salary alongside the promotion arrears of promoted civil servants will be ready next week.
The compilation of what is due to each promoted officer is followed with due diligence to ensure that there is no error in the eventual payment.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has directed that compilation, analysis and computation of the promotion arrears should be completed and paid to the affected civil servants. That payment His Excellency insisted must be made alongside the March salary.
