Ladi, the elderly widow of Audu Bako, the first governor of Kano State, has passed away.
At the age of 93, the first women pioneer passed away.
Zainab Bako, her daughter, told reporters on Wednesday that her mother had passed away. She revealed that the nonagenarian passed away at Kano’s Prime Specialist Hospital following a protracted illness.
It was discovered that her funeral ceremonies would take place in the Emir’s Palace in Kofar Kudu, Kano.
Her late husband was appointed Military governor of the old Kano State from May 1967 to July 1975.
During his tenure, Kano State witnessed massive socio-economic development, which successive governors of the state have been and still building upon.
