A fire outbreak has a couple and their seven-year-old daughter in Kafanchan town, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the tragic incident occurred around 11 pm on Monday night.
Details of what caused the outbreak remain sketchy as at the time of filing this report
According to Daily Trust, Malam Maikano Abdullahi, who lives in the same compound and also lost his belongings to the inferno, explained that all efforts made by the sympathisers, who came for rescue failed.
He said the fire started around 11:03 pm, adding that “I woke up upon hearing my wife shouting for help as fire gutted the deceased’s room which is next to ours.
”What happened was terrible, “We tried our best to break the door but we couldn’t because the door was locked. Unfortunately, the couple; Abdurrahman Abdullahi aka Danjummai, his wife, Zainab Nuhu, and their daughter of seven, Husna, all lost their lives in the inferno before we succeeded in breaking the door.
He explained that all the people could hear was the wife’s screaming for help, but those around could not as the fire had engulfed the room.
The late Danjummai was said to be a drivers’ inspector with the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).
The Jama’a Emirate Council through the Madakin Jama’a and the District Head of Fada, Alhaji Audi Isa Muhammad and the council chairman of Jema’a LGA, Yunana Markus Barde, had paid a condolence visit to the family members of the deceased at their home on Jema’a Street, Kafanchan.
