Dele Alli, who is on loan from Everton, will return to the UK on Saturday for an evaluation of an injury he suffered while playing for Besiktas.
Dele Alli will not be able to play for Everton this season but will be evaluated by the club’s medical staff.
Alli moved from Everton to Besiktas in the Turkish Super Lig on loan at the end of August. He has struggled in that position, with only two goals and one assist in 15 appearances.
Besiktas attempted to cancel Alli’s loan in January, but the lack of a break clause proved difficult.
Alli, who turns 27 on April 11, joined Everton from Tottenham in February 2022 for a fee of approximately £40 million. He did not, however, impress and was loaned out to Besiktas six months later.
He is unpopular at Besiktas and has struggled to regain the form that earned him 37 England caps, the most recent of which was in 2017.
Alli returned to London this week from a club-approved medical visit in Turkey. Following that, he returned to the Besiktas squad despite being told by club coach Senol Gunes that the Englishman was not in his plans for the rest of the season.
