Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has congratulated Christians in Nigeria and around the world on the Easter holiday.
Wike asked Christians to emulate Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that advance the cause of development in an Easter message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri.
The governor stated that Easter symbolizes Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice to save mankind, noting that Christians must consider the welfare of others as individuals.
He urged Rivers State residents to rededicate themselves to the service of the state as they reflect on the ideals of Good Friday and Easter.
Wike assured the people of Rivers State that he would continue to make sacrifices for the state and Nigeria as a whole, defend Nigeria’s interests, and ensure that the people always have good governance as he thanked them for their unwavering support.
He declared Easter to be a time of new beginnings, forgiveness, love, and friendship, urging the privileged to reach out to the less fortunate as everyone works to deepen the culture of true Christianity.
Wike wished the people of the state a Happy Easter and assured them of their safety before, during, and after the festivities.
