Kogi2023: Yahaya Bello Meets APC Governorship Aspirants

Governor Yahaya Bello convened an urgent troubleshooting meeting on Saturday in an effort to ease the mounting tension among the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidates in Kogi state.

All of the candidates, including the Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, attended the closed-door meeting, which was originally scheduled to take place in the Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

Others present at the discussion included commissioners, senators and representatives-elect, and serving federal and state lawmakers who are also Kogi APC members.

Council chairmen, APC State Working Committee members, and local government party chairmen were also present.

The governor acknowledged that there were conflicts inside the party and emphasized the importance of cooperating as a team while promising to create an equal playing field for everybody.

He asserts that there will be enough positions in the incoming Asiwaju Bola Tinubu administration to go around.

He urged those who would lose in the primary to be patient and continue to strive for the party’s success.

Bello gave the contenders instructions to warn their supporters against making divisive remarks while promising to continue conversations with all parties involved.

He also urged people not to file lawsuits against the party, noting that the APC has a strong internal process for resolving conflicts.
