Gabriel Jesus, the Arsenal forward, has revealed how he was persuaded to leave Manchester City and join the Gunners last summer.
Jesus expressed serious reservations about leaving the Premier League champions for Arsenal.
Despite interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea, the striker moved to the Emirates in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £45 million from the Etihad.
Jesus recently returned to the pitch after missing three months with a knee injury.
Not many could boldly say the Gunners would be challenging for the title after finishing fifth last season.
The Brazilian said that Arsenal director of football Edu and manager Mikel Arteta convinced him to join.
“I had a very good and important chat with Edu,” said Jesus, according to Metro.
“I was in doubt [about signing]. But, after I talked to him (Edu) and Mikel (Arteta), the job was done.”
