Suspected cultists have killed a yet-to-be-identified man in Iyana Ipaja, Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred around 12:30 am on Monday barely five days after three civilians were shot dead at their residence in the same area and two days after the murder of an Assignment Superintendent of Police (ASP) at an Ikorodu checkpoint.

According to The Nation, aside from shooting the victim, the suspected cultists were alleged to have also stabbed him on the neck.

The State police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident said investigations had commenced with a view to arresting the culprits.

Hundeyin said detectives who raced to the scene of the incident found the man in a pool of his blood with a knife hanging on his neck.

The PPRO said an expended ammunition shell and an Automated Machine Teller (ATM) card bearing the name Babatunde Adegoke were recovered from the scene.

He said the deceased was deposited at the mainland morgue for autopsy.
