President Muhammadu Buhari has landed in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, to begin an eight-day official visit to the kingdom in the Middle East.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Presidential aircraft carrying Nigeria’s President and several of his aides took off from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 9:10 a.m. on Monday and landed at Prince Mohammed Bin Abdullaziz International Airport in Madinah at around 17:00 p.m. local time.
While in Madinah, the president will do the five daily prayers and Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi before traveling for Makkah via Jeddah late Wednesday for the shorter pilgrimage.
The President’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, had on Monday via a statement revealed that this year’s official visit from April 11 to 19 would be Buhari’s last trip to the Kingdom as President.
NAN reports that the president last performed the Umrah in 2021.
