Bayern Munich’s new manager, Thomas Tuchel, is said to want to sign Manchester United target Victor Osimhen in the summer.
This comes ahead of Bayern Munich’s first-leg Champions League quarter-final match against Manchester City on Tuesday night.
Last summer, Bayern Munich saw Robert Lewandowski leave for Barcelona.
Instead of bringing in a natural centre-forward, they signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool and have relied on Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting this season.
Mane, 31, prefers to play as a left winger, while Choupo-Moting, 34, has been fantastic this season, but the Cameroon international is not a long-term option.
According to El Nacional, Bayern Munich has identified Osimhen, who currently plays for Napoli, as a target for next season’s frontline.
The Nigerian striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United recently and also Paris Saint-Germain in the past.
The 24-year-old could apparently cost around €150 million in transfer fees.
If Bayern Munich meets the asking price, it will eclipse the club-record €80 million they paid Atletico Madrid to sign Theo Hernandez back in 2019.
Osimhen has been impressive for Napoli so far this season, scoring 21 goals in 23 Serie A games for the Serie A leaders.
