14 injured in Bauchi auto crash – FRSC confirms

In a horrifying car accident involving three vehicles that occurred in the village of Tasha Saleh on the Bauchi-Jos highway on Tuesday, fourteen people suffered injuries of varying degrees.

Yusuf Abdullahi, Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), confirmed the accident to journalists in Bauchi and said that of the three vehicles, two were commercial vehicles and the third was a private vehicle.

The ash-colored Opel Vectra saloon, with registration number AA421KRF; the blue DAF articulated truck, with registration number GME 715XX; and the red Mercedes Benz 190, without a registration number, were the vehicles involved, according to the sector commander.

Abdullahi informed that 15 passengers, all male adults, were involved in the accident, adding that only one person escaped unhurt.

The injured persons, the sector commander further informed sustained bruises, deep cuts and fractures in the crash, saying that the probable cause of the accident was dangerous overtaking.

He added that all the injured passengers were taken to the Toro General Hospital in Toro, the headquarters of Toro Local Government Area of the state for treatment.
