Abuja: Kidnappers apologise for killing victim’s father, uncle, insist on N30m ransom

The leader of the kidnappers that abducted a cattle dealer, Isiaka Alhassan Dogara, has apologised for killing the victim’s father and uncle when they struck at Chituma community in Gwagwalada Area Council, Federal Capital Territory.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the kidnappers’ gang abducted the cattle dealer, along with his 14-year-old daughter in the early hours of Saturday.

The man’s father, Alhassan Dogara, who reportedly rushed into the victim’s house following a continued cry from the man’s wives, was shot dead, while his three uncles survived with gunshot injuries, with one of them in life-threatening condition.

According to Daily Trust, the village head’s secretary, Muhammad Liman, over the phone said while two of the injured persons had since been discharged from hospital, the third, Adamu Musa, died on Sunday night.

He further stated that the kidnapper’s leader had made a phone call to the victim’s family on Monday, regretting the deaths, while maintaining that it was not what he sent his boys to do.

Liman added that the head of the kidnappers was, however, asking for N30 million in ransom for the two abducted victims.

“He was told that such an amount could not be afforded, and we have been awaiting his response ever since,’’ Liman added.
