Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has provided an explanation for his team’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday.

Real Madrid’s victory over Chelsea, according to Ancelotti, was a result of his players’ well-rounded performance against Frank Lampard’s team.

At the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid defeated Chelsea thanks to two goals from Karim Benzema and one each from Marco Asensio.

Speaking at this post-match press conference after the game, Ancelotti said, “We played a very well-rounded game.

“We suffered somewhat at the beginning, but the objective was to get ahead and that is what we did. We will have to suffer there because Chelsea have a very good team with very good players, and we’ve another 90 minutes to endure.

“We are satisfied with the result and the performance”.

Real Madrid will now face Chelsea in the return leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
