The Ebonyi State Police Command has paraded four suspects in connection with the murder of Mr Peter Nweke, the Peoples Democratic Party’s ward chairman in the state’s Ezza North Local Government Area.
Nweke was assassinated in Ezza North on March 18 during the governor’s and House of Assembly elections, according to reports.
At a press conference held on Friday in Abakaliki, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, also disclosed that a whopping 21 people have been listed as wanted in connection with the crime.
The arrested four suspects, all male, are Onyebuchi Chita, Ifeanyi Nwokpuku, Aloke Obinna and Kelechi Nwali.
According to the police PRO: “Sequel to the dastardly act, the Commissioner of Police, Faleye S. Olaleye, tasked all police officers in the command to fish out all of those responsible for the killing.
“Consequently, on March 28, four suspects were arrested in connection with the death of Mr Peter Nweke.”
