Plateau Governor-Elect, Mutfwang promises youth inclusion in governance

As Plateau State Governor-Elect Caleb Mutfwang prepares to take over the baton of governance from Simon Lalong on May 29, youths from the Peoples Democratic Party PDP who aided Mutfwang’s election have begun lobbying to be part of the new administration.

The Directorate of Youth Mobilization of the Atiku-Mutfwang Campaign Council led by Hitler Joshua Pwajok made their intentions known on Friday when they paid a visit to the Governor-elect.

According to him, young people on the Plateau would like to play a significant role in Caleb Mutfwang’s upcoming administration.

When Hitler led the Directors of the Youth Directorate, along with the zonal and local government coordinators, to honour Mutfwang, he noted that the youth of the Plateau anticipate making up more than 40% of the labour force under Mutfwang’s rule.

The Governor-Elect seized the forum to commend the youth population, saying indeed thousands of Plateau Youths did the state proud in the recent gubernatorial election.

He said thousands of youths from every nook and cranny of Plateau State mobilized not only to vote but also to protect their votes from being rigged and manipulated.

“You didn’t do this for Caleb Mutfwang, you did it for Plateau People. You fought for your father’s land, you fought for your mothers, you fought for your sisters, you fought for your brothers. You fought for children, you fought for even the ones yet unborn,” he told the visiting youth leaders.

The incoming governor vowed that he would do everything within his power to avert the ugly experiences that characterised the last 8 years.
