The Kogi state government has reacted to description of the state Governor, Yahaya Bello, as a tyrant by Senator Smart Adeyemi.
Recall that Adeyemi while reacting to the outcome of the All Progressives Congress primary conducted on Friday, had said there was no primary election in the state.
He said the primary poll was rigged in favour of Bello’s anointed candidate, Ahmed Usman Ododo, a former Auditor-general of the state.
Reacting to Adeyemi’s allegation, the Commissioner for Information and Communications in Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo said Adeyemi had been a serial betrayer.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News TV on Tuesday, Fanwo said Adeyemi’s claims that the pimary was rigged were false, adding that the primary poll was free and fair.
“The primary is the best in the state’s history; you could see the enthusiasm of the party members who participated in the process.
“Today that man[Yahaya Bello] who supported him[Adeyemi] to become a senator, despite much advice from people outside and within the government that he is going to betray him as a serial betrayal, Bello went ahead and supported him”, he stated.
Ododo was declared the APC’s flagbearer before November 11 2023, governorship election in Kogi State.
However, Adeyemi and four other aspirants in the primary rejected the outcome.
