The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has asked the Abia state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu to either relocate Lokpanta cattle market or revoke the permit.

In a press release today by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary Comrade Emma Powerful IPOB stated that this is purely for the good of Abia people.

“The global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great and indefatigable leader Mazi Nnamdi KANU publicly call on the Governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the in-coming Governor Dr. Alex Oti  to revoke whatever permit if any that was granted for the establishment of Lokpanta Cattle Market.

“This market is  not yielding any benefit to Abia State in particular and Biafrans in general. Instead, it has become a den for kidnappers and a center for kidnapping and banditry against Ndigbo.

“To make Lokpanta Market and its environment safe and productive, IPOB have designated the land as the Site for a modern and biggest trade fair Center on the African Continent and to ensure that our people returning from Lagos and other parts of Nigeria will continue with their respective businesses unhindered and create a source of revenue for the Abia State government.

“Currently, the land is not beneficial to Ndigbo. Instead, it is used to terrorize our people by Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen with tacit support from the Nigeria security agents.

“We urge the Abia State Government under Dr. Ikpeazu and the in-coming Governor Dr. Oti to do the needful by revoking any permit issued to any individual or group of persons so that the land will be used for Public good and for work to commence on it in earnest.

“Currently, Lokpanta has been turned into a hideout for Fulani criminals, kidnapers, terrorists and killers.

“We want to make the land and the environment safe and peaceful again for our people to return and build productive infrastructures.”

Stressing further, IPOB stated that “we are urging Abia Leaders and the Governors to do the needful, or IPOB will after a definite period evict all occupants on that land our own wau.

“We can’t harbor marauders and terrorists killers in our choicest ancestorial lands while our people and their business are being attacked and sacked by their host States all over the zoo.

“We need more space to accommodate our returning businesses, and Lokpanta cattle Market has been earmarked as one of the locations upon which world class Structures will be constructed to accommodate our returning brothers and Sister from other parts of the Zoo to continue with their businesses and work.

“With this objective in mind, we call on Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and/or Dr. Alex Oti to act expeditiously and revoke whatever permit and remove every incumbrencies that may militate against a speedy take off of the Trade Fair Centre Project.

“If the Abia State Government fails to be proactive and do the needful, IPOB shall do the eviction of all occupants of the designated Site our own way.”
