The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) camp of Atiku Abubakar has joined the belief that President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not have been allowed to participate in the recently concluded 2023 presidential election due to alleged dual citizenship.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that Tinubu, who ran for president in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is embroiled in yet another controversy over dual citizenship.
According to reports, Tinubu holds a Guinean passport, which many believe disqualifies him from running in the 2023 presidential election.
In response to the controversy, Atiku’s spokesman, Daniel Bwala, questioned why Tinubu would allegedly have dual citizenship and run for president.
He enquired as to the implications of having dual citizenship, given that the APC candidate had already been declared the winner of the 2023 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Bwala agreed, believing that Tinubu’s dual citizenship disqualifies him from the presidency under Section 137 of the Constitution.
