Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has conceded defeat to Hon. Ikira Aliyu Bilbis of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Zamfara Central senatorial zone.

In a statewide broadcast on Monday, Marafa thanked the people of Zamfara Central senatorial zone for the opportunity to represent them between 2011 and 2019, and wished them well.

He also thanked all stakeholders and supporters for sticking by him and giving him the courage to run in the election, noting that he had learned a lot about the state’s new political dimension.

The former senator, on the other hand, thanked Governor Bello Matawalle for his support in ensuring that he ran for senator for the third time.

He also thanked the party for its unflinching support to his senatorial candidature.

He also thanked the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Presidential Campaign Council for giving him the opportunity to lead the Tinubu campaign council in Zamfara State, stressing that the victory recorded by the APC during the Presidential election in Zamfara State was enough to demonstrate the power of the APC in Zamfara.

Marafa promised that he will never approach the court to challenge the result of the 2023 senatorial election, saying that the action will distract the senator-elect from doing his job, which he said would eventually affect the senatorial zone.
