Anambra: Tension as 6-year-old child is abducted in Ogbaru

Tension, anxiety and fear has enveloped the people of Okoti Odekpe community in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state as a 6-year old Vincent Chukwudubem Ekwoba has been kidnapped by unknown persons.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the incident happened at about 11am on Wednesday.

An eye witness told our reporter that the young boy was playing with his friends in the compound when he was abducted by unknown persons.

However, in an exclusive chat with WITHIN NIGERIA reporter, the elder brother to the victim, Valentine Ekwoba explained that “I was in the house with him and he was just playing with the other kids around the compound. He will just come in and drink water and go back playing.

“But at 11:00 am, a boy from our compound came and called me that my brother ( Chidubem ) was taken by someone. He was telling me and was crying.

“Then I rushed out to meet people on the road , I was surprised seeing what the mood those people was like .

“They told me to enter Keke and rush that I may still see him with the people that took him. I collected some money from some women around and rushed out in chase of the abductors, though I couldn’t see them.

“At the road I have to report to the navy and Police at their check point. They directed me to Atani Police station where I went and made a statement. Since then, we have been going around the street looking for him. Till now we have not seem him.”

Asked if anybody has contacted them for ransom he answered in the negative, stating that they were yet get any call.

However, all efforts by our reporter to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra state Command, Tochukwu Ikenga proved abortive as he was not taking his call.
