Binani: What Happened In Adamawa Was A Disgrace’ – APC Lawmaker Speaks

Binani and Fintiri

Akin Alabi, a member of the House of Representatives, has called the controversy surrounding the Adamawa State governorship election a disgrace.

Remember that a Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Adamawa State declared Binani the winner of the governorship election while the results of the supplementary election were still being collated.

However, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the declaration null and void and called for the collation to resume.

On Tuesday, the incumbent governor, Adamu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was declared the winner of the election.

In response, Alabi, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), congratulated Fintiri via his verified Twitter handle.

He also demanded that everyone involved in the election controversy be punished.

He wrote:

What happened in Adamawa was a disgrace and all those involved should be punished. Congratulations to Gov Fintiri.

Nigerians Will Not Forgive And Forget Binani’s Move

Meanwhile, Bashir, the son of Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has reacted to the controversy surrounding Adamawa State’s governorship election.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Bashir described the state’s controversy as a lose-lose situation for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.

Bashir believes that whether Binani wins or loses the governorship election in Adamawa State, the situation is dire.

He stated that if Binani wins the governorship election, her victory will be viewed as a robbery.

Bashir also stated that Nigerians will not forgive Binani for allegedly conspiring with the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa Ari, to usurp the election.
