Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have killed a man identified as Musa Abari and abducted his wife, Hulaira, along with five others in Kasada village of Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to Daily Trust, a resident of the area, Danjuma Musa, said the incident happened around 11:30 pm on Monday, when the gunmen in their large numbers, wielding AK-47 rifles, invaded the community.
Musa said some of the kidnappers forced themselves into the house, and as the man tried to prevent them from taking his wife, one of the kidnappers shot him on the chest.
He said, “Some of the kidnappers positioned themselves at strategic places in the village, while others forced their way into the deceased’s house.”
He added that the kidnappers, after abducting the woman, proceeded to their neighbours’ houses, where they whisked away five other victims, before making their way back into the bush.
Musa said the deceased was buried on Tuesday.
A similar incident reportedly happened last week when kidnappers attacked Kwaku village and abducted five villagers, including a pastor in the area.
The FCT Police spokeswoman, DSP Adeh Josephine, was yet to issue any official statement over the latest kidnapping incident at the time of filing this report.
