Reno Omokri, a former media advisor to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, claims that Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, moved the party “from zero to hero.”
He said this in response to the Labour Party’s internal crisis over a leadership squabble.
On Wednesday, Omokri remarked on Twitter that factional leaders must recognize Obi’s sacrifice, which has altered the party in less than a year.
He said the former Anambra State Governor’s sacrifice was enough for the LP factional leaders to overlook his lapses.
He wrote, “Labour Party is very unwise to have this infighting. No matter the issue the Apapa-led faction has, they ought to recognize that Peter Obi took Labour from zero to hero in less than a year. If someone can achieve that for you, you can as well forgive his lapses!”
Labour Party gained nationwide support after Peter Obi emerged as its presidential candidate shortly after joining the party from the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Since the controversial February 25th presidential election which saw the LP flag bearer, Obi finish third behind Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, and Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, the party has been plunged into internal crisis.
