A 20-year-old man, Salisu Tasiu-Muhammed, drowned in a pond at Bakin Gada, Bunkure town in Bunkure LGA of Kano State.
It was gathered that the tragic incident happened on Wednesday.
The Spokesman of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, who disclosed this stated on Thursday said that rescuers brought Tasiu-Muhammed out of the pond in an unconscious state but he was later confirmed dead
Abdullahi added that the corpse had been handed over to the deceased’s father, Alhaji Tasiu Muhammed-Usman.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that in February 2023, a 14-year-old boy, Ashfa Ibrahim, drowned in an open stream at Danzaki Village in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano state.
According to the Fire Service spokesman, the victim slipped and fell into the open water, sustaining injuries on his body.
“The victim was later confirmed dead by a team of medical doctors at the Gezawa General Hospital,” he added.
