Lionel Messi, Paris Saint-Germain’s forward, has arrived in Barcelona as speculation over his potential return to Camp Nou grows.
The Argentine superstar reportedly arrived in the Catalan city, according to senior journalist Gerard Romero, adding fuel to the rumors.
According to BarcaWorldwide on Twitter, the well-known journalist also notes that the World Cup champion’s visit is not typical.
He disclosed that Messi, his family, and a ton of luggage were in Barcelona.
“This is not a regular visit for Messi in Barcelona as Pepe Costa [Messi’s right-hand man] was carrying 15 suitcases. In view of his previous visits, Leo Messi went out through a different door at the airport this time in order not to be seen by anyone in Barcelona.
“Lionel Messi is closer than ever to returning to Barcelona. We have to stay vigilant in the coming days because there are moves that may happen.”
At the conclusion of the current season, Messi’s contract at Princes des Parc will expire, and negotiations to extend it are in a deadlock since Barcelona wants to re-sign their legend for free.
