EPL: Lampard reveals player who is ‘future of Chelsea’

Chelsea interim manager Frank Lampard believes Enzo Fernandez could be the club’s “future.”

Toddy Boehly, Blues co-owner, paid £107 million to sign Fernandez from Benfica in January.

However, despite the fact that Fernandez has provided a spark in some games and may eventually meet his potential, the move has underwhelmed.

Lampard told reporters on Tuesday: “For a young player to achieve what he’s achieved in this footballing year is amazing.

“It’s a difficult moment to come to the club, but it’s a challenge that will make him better. He is the future of Chelsea.”
