Eighty three suspected criminals have been apprehended in Kano state for allegedly committing various offences, the police in the North West state have said.
SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s spokesman, made this known in a press statement issued on Wednesday.
He further stated that the suspects were arrested this month, between April 21 and 25, during and after the Eid el-Fitr celebration in all the five Emirate councils of the state.
According to him, the suspected criminals were apprehended with dangerous weapons, illicit drugs and stolen properties, adding that they are currently under investigation.
“The Command reiterates its commitment to ensuring the security and safety of the good people of the state. Rigorous patrols, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots will continue throughout the state, as the command will sustain the ongoing “Community Policing Engagements” that are yielding positive results,” Kiyawa stated.
