The All Progressives Congress (APC) has chastised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for his remarks about President-elect Bola Tinubu.
WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Atiku stated that he has run for President without controversy since 1993, unlike Tinubu, who is dealing with alleged drug and identity scandals.
This was stated by Atiku in his response to Tinubu and the APC’s preliminary objection filed in response to Atiku’s petition, which challenged Tinubu’s election as the winner of the February 25 presidential election.
The PDP flagbearer stated that he towers above Tinubu and that there is no basis for comparison, having served as Vice President for eight years, adding that Tinubu, unlike him, is dogged by many controversies such as age, state of origin, identity, and educational qualification, among others.
He claimed Tinubu was unfit to be Nigeria’s President because he allegedly forfeited $460,000 to the US government in a drug-related court case, and he also has dual citizenship in Nigeria and Guinea, having voluntarily acquired the citizenship of the Republic of Guinea.
Bala Ibrahim, the APC’s Director of Media and Publicity, told The Punch on Wednesday that he is pleased that Atiku has admitted that he is a perpetual loser.
In his response to the president-elect, Ibrahim also chastised the PDP presidential candidate for raising the drugs allegation leveled against Tinubu.
He said;
I am happy that he admitted that he is a perpetual loser. If you know that you are a proud loser, why stand for an election that you know the outcome even from where you stand? What’s the point?
