The end may not have been heard of the death of a 13 year old boy in Uda community, Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North local government area of Enugu state as angry youths have reportedly besieged the house of the owner of the killer cashew tree, demanding an explanation from the man, destroying his house.

WITHIN NIGERIA source Jonas Ezeja revealed that “the youths on Sunday besieged the house of the owner of the killer cashew tree, Okeke Odo, demanding explanation from him on why he used such deadly charm on his cashew. They printed a flex  with the deceased picture and inscription,  “CASHEW FRUIT IS NOT IMPORTANT THAN ABUCHI LIFE, OKEKE ODO, WE NEED EXPLANATION,” which they hoisted in his compound

Asked what was the response of the suspect, Mr. Ezeja stated that ” according to these youths, they couldn’t see him in his house and so they had to destroy his house. After the destruction, the youths reported the incident to the Police Divisional headquarters, Ogrute, Igbo-Eze North local government area.”

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that Okeke Odo, a native doctor has run away on Saturday before the youths besieged his house.

Recall that last Wednesday a 13 year-old boy reportedly died after eating “charmed” cashew fruits in Uda, Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North local government area of Enugu state.

The boy who was simply identified as Abuchi has reportedly died even after his parents presented a ram as demanded by the owner of the cashew tree to appease the charm.

Our source revealed that ” it is normal to pluck and eat any cashew fruit you see in this community. We don’t see it as criminal act so long as you did not go home with the seed.

“However after plucking cashew fruit from a particular tree that was “charmed”,  the owner asked the parents of the boys to bring a ram so that he can undo the charm.

“In any case, the parents did as they were told yet this boy, Abuchi continued to be ill.

“Few days later, Abuchi died as a result of the “charmed” fruit.”

In the meantime WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the Uda youths have allegedly ostracized the suspect, asking him not come to back to the community again as long as he lives.

When contacted on phone, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO Enugu state police command, Daniel Ndukwe could not pick his calls.
