Okey Wali, the kidnapped former president of the Nigeria Bar Association, is no longer in captivity after two weeks.
Senior Nigerian advocate Wali was taken hostage by masked gunmen on Monday at the Obiri-Kwere section of the East-West Road in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The NBA chairman, Port Harcourt Branch, Viktor Benibo, confirmed Wali’s release on Monday, saying, “He is in his house. He was released in the early hours of today.”
Recall that his abduction a second time raised concerns of insecurity in Rivers State, with the NBA, Port Harcourt branch.
