Former England manager Sam Allardyce is said to be in talks with Leeds United this week about replacing Javi Gracia.
Since taking over as Leeds manager in February to replace Jesse Marsch, Gracia has won three of his first eleven league games.
Leeds United are currently 17th in the league table with 30 points from 34 games, just one point above relegation.
Unfortunately for the relegation-threatened club, Leeds United still has four Premier League matches left in which they have little or no chance of winning based on their current form.
On Saturday, they face current league leaders Manchester City at the Etihad. Following that, they face in-form Newcastle United at home, West Ham United on the road, and Tottenham Hotspur at home.
Victor Orta, Leeds United’s director of football, resigned earlier today due to club tensions and the possibility of relegation.
Following Orta’s resignation, club manager Javi Gracia resigned as Allardyce agreed to take over the sinking ship.
The former Bolton, West Ham, and Everton manager is said to have signed a “flexible contract” to return to the club this week.
The 68-year-old has been unemployed since the end of the Premier League season in 2020-21, when his West Brom team was relegated from the top flight for the first time in his career.
Allardyce and Angus Kinnear, the CEO of Leeds, previously worked together at West Ham, so the veteran coach should be able to begin his rescue mission this weekend.
