Boyi Manja, the caretaker committee chairman of Takum Local Government Council in Taraba State, has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that his orderly was also reportedly killed by the gunmen.
The incident occurred on the Wukari/Takum road on Sunday afternoon.
Pius Bulus Gauva, the leader of Takum Local Government Legislative Council, confirmed the incident, saying, “we received the news with rude shock.”
“My caretaker committee chairman has been kidnapped, his police orderly, was also killed during the incident.”
A source from the council who spoke with newsmen, said the council chairman was traveling with his driver and orderly when the gunmen struck.
Also confirming the report, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Abdullahi Usman, who could not give the full details at the time of filing this report, said it “is true that the council caretaker chairman has been abducted.”
The PPRO who said the command had reached out to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Takum, promised to get back to this reporter as soon as the details of the attacks are made available to the command.
