Hoodlums invaded a community bank, LAPO Microfinance Bank, and stole an unspecified sum of money at Lokogoma, Phase II area, in Lokoja, Kogi State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in the early hours of last Friday.
According to Daily Trust, a staff of the bank, who craved anonymity, said the “robbers” came to the bank which shared the same building with a political party, and broke in through a window and the ceiling, broke the vault, and went away with the money.
The State Police spokesman, SP William Aya, who confirmed the incident, however, described it as “housebreaking and theft.”
Aya said, said, “It was a case of housebreaking and theft. The thieves carted away the sum of N21,910.”
