The All Progressive Congress (APC), Benue State chapter has suspended two governorship aspirants on the platform of the party for anti-party activities.
The affected members were; one-time former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Barnabas Gemade and Professor Terhemba Shija.
It will be recalled that the suspended chieftains of the party were among the trio that challenged the process that produced Rev Fr, Hyacinth Alia as the party candidate in the last primary election down to the Supreme Court.
The suspension of the two chieftains of the party was ratified at the State expanded meeting held at its secretariat in Makurdi on Wednesday.
The Party State Chairman, Austin Agada said that the suspension of the two chieftains of the party was a result of working against the success of the party before and during the just concluded election.
He also accused them of working in connivance with the Peoples’ Democratic Party to thwart their effort.
Agada said, “Chief Barnabas Gemade vehemently refused to go with the constitution of the party. That he lost his ward and the entire Konshisha local government area is most appalling. Hon. Shija frustrated the party and worked in connivance with the PDP.
“Both are hereby suspended and are to face the party’s disciplinary committee.
In the same vein, three ward executive officers in the same local government were also suspended for anti-party activities.
