Operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps have arrested two suspected criminals who pretend to be lunatics after committing crimes in the state.

The Commander of Amotekun in the state, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, disclosed this on Wednesday while parading 26 suspects involved in various crimes across the state.

While advising residents of the state to be wary of persons claiming to be lunatics, Adeleye, said the arrested two suspects had been constituting a security risk in the state.

He said one of the suspects who was arrested within the spate of one week had expensive phones on him when he was nabbed.

Adeleye added that the other suspect started feigning mental imbalance after hacking his landlord to death.

“While searching for these mad people, we found expensive phones on them. And we found out that the majority of them only pretended to be mad to gather information in the particular area where they intend to operate.

“We have two of them, one from Idanre and one from Igbara-Oke. It is actually dangerous to accost a madman, anything could happen thereafter. The best thing is to give us timely information and we’ll take it up from there.”

The Amotekun boss also disclosed that 24 other suspected criminals involved in robbery, rape and kidnapping were also arrested by his men.
