Sit-at-home: Unknown gun men invade Anambra community, burn Keke, buses

Hell once again returned to  Anambra community as unknown gun men stormed Ogidi, snatching tricycles, burning buses.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the deadly incident happened on Wednesday morning, throwing the town into Pandemonium.

Our reporter equally gathered that “those trying to force sit-at-home earlier ordered by hoodlums in Anambra communities invaded Afor Nkpor and Ogidi round about, Anambra State, burning down buses and Keke. Two buses and keke tricycles were burnt down.”

The affected vehicles

Recall that hoodlums on Sunday distributed some leaflets in the state, ordering sit-at-home on 8, 9,10 and 11 May 2023, an order our reporter gathered has been ignored by the south easterners.

One of the vehicles was set ablaze around Ugwunwanosike while a tricycle was burnt beyond repairs within the commercial city.

Reacting, Anambra State Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said: “Police responded swiftly which made the criminals escape the scene.

“The hoodlums in an attempt to scare the residents from coming out to embark on their daily activities, stopped and set on fire commercial vehicles and tricycles plying the road.

“Meanwhile calm has returned to the area and the situation is under control and monitored.”
