Fabio Capello, the former head coach of the Three Lions of England, has highlighted the similarities between two of Europe’s brightest strikers, Erling Haaland and Victor Osimhen.
Fabio Capello, who has coached AC Milan, Juventus, Roma, Real Madrid, and many other teams, believes that Osimhen and Haaland share a similar desire to score goals and can help their respective teams win games.
Erling Haaland, who joined Manchester City last summer, has been a beast in the Premier League, breaking several records in just 10 months. He is currently the first player in league history to have more than 35 league goals. In his debut season at City, the 22-year-old Norwegian striker has scored 51 goals in 47 games across all competitions.
His efforts have propelled Manchester City to the Champions League semi-finals, where they drew 1-1 with Real Madrid in the first leg and are looking forward to defeating the reigning Champions League champions on Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium.
Victor Osimhen, on the other hand, is having the best football season of his career at Napoli. So far this season, he has scored 23 league goals, making him the highest goal scorer in Serie A.
The 24-year-old striker was instrumental in Napoli winning Serie A for the first time in 33 years. He is also the first African player to have 47 league goals in Serie A.
Fabio Capello stated in an interview with Sky Italia via Napoli Magazine that both Osimhen and Haaland have the same personality and abilities on the field.
I don’t think Haaland is under pressure, because he has anger inside,” Capello said.
He lives for goals. Osimhen has the same thing, they live for this. They fight, they want to win, they help their teammates and they transmit this determination that makes you win games.
