Leicester City manager Dean Smith has confirmed that attacker Kelechi Iheanacho will return to training next week following a brief absence.
Iheanacho suffered a muscular injury in last month’s draw with Leeds United.
Since suffering the injury, the Nigerian international has missed Leicester City’s past two games.
There were worries that the 26-year-old might be out for the rest of the season.
Smith has, however, offered a positive injury update on the striker.
“Hopefully he’s due to training earlier next week rather than later.
“We thought he’d only have a build-up of two days before the Newcastle game, but he’s ahead of schedule, which is pleasing for us”, he told a press conference.
Leicester City will host Liverpool at the King Power Stadium next week Monday.
