The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the names of candidates for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State on Friday.
In a statement to journalists, INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, announced that it would publish the personal details of governorship candidates in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states.
He revealed that the publication would take place in the three states’ state capitols and local government offices.
INEC’s list for Kogi named Olayinka Braimoh as the Action Alliance’s governorship candidate, with Mr Simon Ogwu as his running mate.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Hon. Leke Abejide, and Dauda Ismaila Onuoroiza as running mates are also on the list, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has Sen. Dino Melaye and Habibat Mohammed Deen as running mates.
Other candidates include Mubarak Musa of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), whose running mate is Tenimu Idris of the Labour Party, Okeme Adejoh of the Labour Party, with Ocheja Edogbo Sunday as his running mate, and Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Monday’s Social Democratic Party (SDP) ticket includes Sheik Ibrahim Jibrin and Ajodo Damian.
