Roy Keane, a former goalkeeper for Manchester United, criticised Everton’s Jordan Pickford, calling the Englishman “too small” and unprepared.
After the Toffees were defeated 3-0 by Manchester City, the former Manchester United player issued a stinging appraisal of England’s number one.
Pickford, according to Keane, is not a great goalkeeper.
Manchester City overcame Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park to go even closer to winning the Premier League championship, while Brighton thrashed Arsenal 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.
Gundogan’s first goal had Keane wondering about Everton custodian Jordan Pickford after the Germany international controlled the ball with his thigh in the penalty box and delivered a very beautiful flick over his shoulder to catch Pickford off guard and open the score.
“Pickford for the goal, my goodness. He looks so small in there, there’s no spring, he’s not anticipating,” Keane said on Sky Sport.
“Micah [Richards] said before the game he’s a top goalkeeper, he’s not.”
