Anxiety As Explosion Hits Jalingo Again

There is prevailing anxiety as an improvised explosive device went off on Sunday night at a drinking joint in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

On Sunday night, an explosive device that seemed to be a tiny bomb detonated in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.

The incident happened at the Doruwa bar across from Polaris Bank, and it had an undetermined number of casualties while also having an impact on some nearby structures.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the Doruwa explosion is the fourth to take place in the state’s capital since 2022 and the fifth in the entire state.

It was also gathered that the affected persons were rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention, just as men of the Nigerian police anti-bomb squad have cordoned off the area to avert another blast, in an event of any, planted nearby.

Both Taraba state government and the security authorities are yet to release a statement in respect to the incident as of time of filling this report.
