Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved the appointment of eight new permanent secretaries after successful conduct of examination by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Badagry, Lagos.
Fintiri said yesterday their appointment was aimed at rejigging the civil service for efficient service delivery.
The appointees were among the 49 candidates from nine LGAs who sat for the promotion examinations.
The new permanent secretaries are to fill existing vacancies in the state civil service.
Those Appointed are Muktar Aminu Tukur from Yola South, Geandi Joffrey Rifkatu; Yola North, Musa Abbas Kiri; Shelleng and Bagumi Alfred Henry; Numan,
Others are Mohammed Hamman; Mubi South, Daniel Sylvester Jailani; Jada, Amos Pribu Enoch; Guyuk and Dr Celym Laori; Demsa while no candidate passed the exam from Ganye.
Announcing the examination results in the Government House Yola, Governor Umaru Fintiri acknowledged that the process has come to stay as the standard has not been compromised.
He noted how the exam was competitive, stressing that any LGA that has not passed will not qualify as the government cannot lower the standard of the exam.
Fintiri called on candidates who did not pass the selection process not to lose hope but to prepare well for the subsequent exams.
Earlier in his remarks, the State Head of Civil Service, Dr Edgar Amos Sunday said with the exam, Adamawa is on the path of having a virile, productive and efficient civil service.
