Jigawa NNPP senatorial candidate Rabiu Taura is dead

Alh. Rabi’u Isah Taura, the NNPP’s candidate for Jigawa Northwest Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections, has died.

Rabiu Taura died Tuesday morning after a lengthy time of suffering from severe back pain.

Under Sule Lamido’s government, he served as Jigawa State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Commissioner of Land, and Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources.

He eventually switched to the NNPP with his employer, NNPP governorship candidate Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, who was at odds with Lamido at the time.

The deceased is survived by wives, children, and grandchildren.

Ringim confirmed the death in a statement issued to newsmen.

He described his death as a great loss not only to the families but to the state and country in general.

He prayed for Allah SWA to grant the soul eternal rest and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Ringim said the funeral prayer will take place today Tuesday at 10:00 am in Taura Local Government.
